notetaking: review and develop
The afternoon practical session of Minutes Made Easy is always popular with delegates who find it highly effective in developing their note-taking skills and a good complement to the knowledge gained during the morning.
However, if minute-taking skills are not used for a while, it can be difficult to get back into the role. Minute-takers also find that it is easy to slip into bad habits and sometimes just want to check that they are still taking appropriate notes and writing them up in a professional style.
This half-day session offers the combination of a refresher and the chance to develop note-taking skills to a higher level. It follows a similar format to the afternoon session on the original course: short, relevant examples to note, followed by group work on the minute produced with peer evaluation and model answers. There is also a short Q&A clinic so people can discuss any issues they’ve faced with their minutes and get practical advice and support.
Who should attend?
Anyone who has attended Minutes Made Easy and wants a refresher, or to develop their skills in notetaking. Staff who have not attended the original course are welcome, but knowledge of the principles and practice of minute-taking is assumed and won’t be covered.
